Our water system is comprised of the most state of the art equipment and facilities that provide services for approximately 1100 residential, 1 Industrial, and 170 commercial customers. We have over 29.5 miles of water main that serve customers both inside and outside the city limits. The city has over 13 miles of sanitary sewer lines. The City of Monticello’s water treatment plant monitors water according to state and federal regulation; we also monitor the water quality on a continuous basis through operator testing during plant operation to maintain the highest level of water quality possible. Water is supplied to the plant from the Monticello Reservoir and three wells. Well water and reservoir water are combined and treated at the water plant.

With a qualified staff on call 24 hours a day, the City of Monticello operates to insure that each citizen has uninterrupted water and sewer service 365 days a year!
